MISSION:

During the Internet boom, Flextronics was doing a tremendous amount of large acquisitions and needed a method of collecting key materials and related data into one centralized location. In addition, this platform needed to be highly flexible for additional data, and new acquisitions.

SOLUTION:

The team created a Materials Data Warehouse that was capable of pulling tremendous amount of data from each facility, processing it nightly, and allowing for a Cognos Reporting environment. All purchasing, inventory, and product information was being stored in the Data Warehouse. In addition, hundreds of metrics and algorithms were created using these “core” tables from the ERP to further provide Business Intelligence. At the end, over 5,000 users were tied into MDSS (much more now!) and CEO/COO activity was driven based off of the valuable Supply Chain information provided.
